Caribou Lady Crowned 2012 Miss Maine

BRUNSWICK, Maine – On Saturday night, June 16, at the Crooker Theater in Brunswick, Molly Bouchard, 21 from Caribou, was crowned Miss Maine 2012. Bouchard will represent the state throughout the next year and earns a spot in the 2013 Miss America Pageant.

Molly is a graduate of Caribou High School and a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music in Boston majoring in vocal performance. She presented a classical vocal selection for her talent and her platform is STARS: Sharing Talents and Reducing Stereotypes. Molly also received the Steven “Daddy” Jensen Award and the Talent Award.

Molly will spend the next year traveling the state to spread the message about her platform and the Miss America Organization, a non-profit organization awarding more scholarship money for young women than any other organization in the world. In January Miss Bouchard will represent Maine in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas which airs on ABC.

First runner-up for Miss Maine was Janet Ottman from Kennebunkport, Second runner-up was Kelsey Earley from Lebanon, Third Runner-up was Alexa Dumont from Biddeford and Fourth Runner-up was Marissa Butler from Standish.

Other awards and scholarships went to Shayne Anderson from Dedham (People’s Choice Award), Marissa Butler from Standish (Miracle Maker Award), Kacie Ferraro from Berwick ($1000 Miss America Academic Scholarship), and Kelsey Earley from Lebanon (Swimsuit Award and $1000 Community Service Award.)

On that same evening, Katie Elliott won the title of Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen 2012. Katie performed a vocal selection as her talent and her platform is The Driving Force: Supporting Our Local Charities. Katie was also the recipient of the Scholastic Achievement Award and Talent Award. She will travel to Orlando, FL in August to represent Maine at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant.

First runner-up was Audrey Thames from Topsham and Second Runner-up was Abagale Stewart from Easton. Charlotte Crosby of Topsham was named Miss Congeniality.
