FFHS Announces 3rd Athletic Hall of Fame Class

   Fort Fairfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the names of its third class of inductees. List alphabetically below are the inductees with a brief write-up on their accomplishments.

 

   Clarence “Chub” Clark, Coach the boys and girls ski teams to 5 State Championships and 9 Regional titles. Clark also coached various other sports including golf, track & field, baseball and cross country. Clark will be inducted posthumously.

   Wilbur “Biff” Cyr, a 1971 graduate and star pitcher for the 1970 State Class A Baseball Champions who in his junior year pitched and batted his team to the school’s first baseball State Championship. Cyr hit over .390 his sophomore year and over .300 in his State championship season.

Timothy Doak, a 1986 graduate and multisport star athlete earning 11 varsity letters in basketball, baseball, golf and soccer. Doak was a starter and key member on the 1983-84 Eastern Maine Class C basketball championship team. He was awarded the FFHS Basil Mahaney Award for Athlete of the Year.

   Devin Jewett, a 1998 graduate and outstanding multi sport star played basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. She earned several Eastern Maine and AllAroostook awards including the McDonald’s Senior AllStar and Basil Mahaney Award for Athlete of the Year. Jewett is the 6th Alltime leading scorer for girls basketball with 738 career points.

   Kelly Koziol , a 1989 outstanding coach and athlete, coached her cheerleading squads to 3 State Championships in 2003, 2005 & 2006. Koziol also coached boys soccer and boys & girls track teams including many individual State, Regional and County champions including current and past track record holders.

   Shawn Rogers, a 1994 graduate and multisport star who pitched his team to the 1994 State Class D Baseball Championship earning AllState first Team honors.. In addition to baseball, Rogers played basketball and was a 4year player on the soccer team. He won the Basil Mahaney Award for Athlete of the Year.

   Jessie Giggey Thomson, a 1950 graduate and multisport athlete who participated in Basketball, crosscountry skiing, softball and cheering. She averaged 24 point per game in her senior year of basketball. Her coach called her one the quickest players on the court, male or female.

   Tony Ugone, A 1978 graduate and multisport athlete played baseball, basketball, soccer and volleyball. Was a member of the 1976 Eastern Maine Soccer Championship team and earned High School All American honors for soccer that same year. Ugone was also the Basil Mahaney award winner for Athlete of the Year.
