God Possession

By:  Dr. Katherine Albrecht, Ed. D.

Fort Fairfield Journal, January 6, 2016

Fifteen years ago, I said, “God, reporting for duty, Sir.  You deploy me, you say where you want me to go, you tell me what to do.  All I ask is you make it clear what I'm supposed to do, put the work in front of me and I promise to do it.”  That's signing up to be a foot soldier in the army of the Lord, as the old time hymn puts it.  That's actually signing up to say I voluntarily give myself to be of service to this cause.  That's not being enslaved, or somehow used without your knowledge.  It's being filled with the Holy Spirit, which is the opposite of possession.  Possession is being filled with darkness, with a dark spirit.  Being filled with the Holy Spirit is actually asking for the Holy Spirit - for something other than you, that is spiritual - to come and live inside your heart to motivate you, move you and work through you.

That kind of sounds like demon possession, except it's the opposite.  It's God possession.  People are signing up for both sides of this particular battle.  Without even knowing it millions of young people are signing up to be used by the other side, to  be driven like cars, to have something hop into the driver's seat and drive them on a road to destruction, to run people over.  It's inspiring them to pick up guns, to go shoot their fellow classmates, random people on the street and children and to commit other horrible acts.

Why would our enemy want to inspire people to want to do those terrible things?  First of all, how do they allow themselves to be used in that way in the first place?  I would argue that messing around with mind altering drugs is one of the key ways to do that.  I've done lots of radio shows on why I believe that to be true; about people hearing voices, contacting me and explaining what they were doing before they began hearing the voices.  Usually it's messing around with the occult, a Ouiji board, summoning spirits, casting spells, messing around with Wicca, or using mind-altering drugs.

I've talked before about my Cherokee friend who said you white people are crazy that you're just going to sit alone in your apartment and use mind-altering drugs that make your consciousness leave your body.  My friend said the Cherokee understand that when you do that you do it with a shaman because when you leave you don't always come back alone.  Stuff grabs onto you when you're in the spirit world.  When you come back into your body and you're not alone, you hear voices and you get possessed.

So, if we would all ask the proper spirit - the Holy Spirit - into our lives, to possess us, we would find the world to be a lot nicer place to live in than the one we currently inhabit.
