The Nature of Government is to Create Gulags

When I had lewrockwell.com columnist, Betty Acres on last week, she said something that really stuck with me. Toward the end of the interview she said something that I have not been able to get out of my head. What she said was: it is the nature of governments to create gulags; that all governments will go in that direction, all of them. It is their nature. It will happen here, it happens everywhere. The only thing that stops it from happening is the will of the people.
If you want to understand where our current government legislation is leading, it does not take a degree in political science, or a 180 I.Q.. It doesnít take anything other than that very, very simple understanding that Betty shared with us. It is the nature of governments to create gulags and the only thing that stops them is the unwillingness of the people to go along with them.
My friends, we absolutely must resist because the alternative is so much worse. Itís a moral obligation to resist government tyranny. If you understand thatís how the world works and you fail to act on it, to resist, to protest, then youíre going to get the government you deserve.
The people who have gotten the government they deserve, through apathy and inaction, have frequently either wound up dead themselves or wound up watching huge swaths of people be killed by their government.
Government was the most deadly force on the planet in the 20th century, six times more deadly than all the previous centuriesí wars combined. There is nothing to prevent it from being even more deadly in the coming century, except you.
