GERALD K. BRAYALL

Fort Fairfield – Gerald K. Brayall, 57, husband of Joan (Morrissey) Brayall, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 20, 2016 at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born January 10, 1959 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Gerald L. and Josephine M. (Reed) Brayall. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1977 and also was a graduate of the NMVTI, Presque Isle, receiving a certificate in drafting. He was married to Joan Morrissey on December 18, 1981 and had been employed by Buck Construction, Mapleton as a project manager for over thirty years. Gerald had been a member of the National Rifle Association and greatly enjoyed many trips to the family camp at Drews Lake, Linneus as well as the hunting trips with his father, brother and son. He also loved to snowmobile, however his family will remember him mostly for his sense of humor, his ability to create and fix most anything, and his nurturing personality that was so full of love. He was also a father figure for several of his children’s friends over the years. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Joan Brayall of Fort Fairfield; one son, Patrick Brayall and his wife Erin of Manchester, NH; one daughter, Jennifer Brayall and her companion Todd Michaud, both of Old Orchard Beach; one brother, Jason Brayall and his wife Nicki of Colorado Spring, CO; three sisters, Judith Caldwell and her husband Jeffrey of Auburn, Lisa Libby and her husband Timothy of Garland, TX, Terry Brayall of Fort Fairfield. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Mildred Morrissey of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick; a special aunt, Barbara Kelley of Houlton, a special friend who Gerald thought of as a brother, Patrick Guest of Fredericton, New Brunswick; as well as several nieces and nephews, and extended family members and friends in the Reed, Kenneson and DeMerchant families. In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, his family is planning a private Celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in Gerald’s memory to the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association, Founder Affiliate, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
