MINNIE M. BUTLER
Fort Fairfield – Minnie M. Butler, 90, wife of the late George P. Butler, passed away Saturday morning, April 11, 2015 at her Fort Fairfield home, following a brief illness. She was born February 11, 1925 in Summerfield, New Brunswick, the daughter of Hugh J. and Ella R. (Hathaway) Lunn. She attended school in Clearview, New Brunswick and was married to George P. Butler on December 4, 1946. She had been employed by the former A & P Processing Plant, Fort Fairfield for many years. Minnie enjoyed knitting and creating countless pairs of sock and mittens over the years for R.S.V.P. In addition to her parents, Minnie was predeceased by her husband George on October 18, 1981; seven brothers, Miles, John, Clifford, Harry, Simmons, Coburn and Irvin Lunn; two sisters, Melinda Smith and Mary Curtis. She is survived by three sons, George Arthur Butler of Fort Fairfield, Berton Butler and his wife Judy of Van Buren, Wade Butler of Fort Fairfield. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Madeline Lunn of Andover, New Brunswick; as well as 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday April 15, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. In keeping with Minnie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Butler to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross Street, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
