DEBRA J. CANAVAN
Colorado Springs, CO & Fort Fairfield – Debra J. Canavan, 57, passed away quietly at her Colorado Springs, CO home on March 2, 2018. She was born April 12, 1960 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Harold F. and Joyce K. (Beard) Canavan. Deb graduated in 1978 from Fort Fairfield High School, and attended the University of Maine at Machias receiving an associate degree in science in 1980. Deb was employed at Brooks Drug, Fort Fairfield from 1981 to 1986, Burrelle’s Luce Press Clipping, Presque Isle from 1987 to 2004, Pikes Peak Regional Development Center, Colorado Springs, CO from 2005 until 2007, and El Paso County Sheriff’s Department, Colorado Springs, CO from 2007 until 2018. Debra is survived by two brothers, David Canavan and his wife Pat of Fort Fairfield, Michael Canavan and his wife Raylene of North Waterboro; one sister, Pat Jenkins and her husband Skip of Colorado Springs, CO; nephew, Josh Jenkins and his wife Angie, and their daughter, Alyssa, and son, Chase; nephew, Jeff Jenkins and his wife Jen, and their daughters Hadley, Jillian, Rylie, Jenna and Lauren. Friends may call Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield at a later date.
