FRANCES L. CARMICHAEL

Fort Fairfield – Frances L. Carmichael, 93, passed away Friday morning, May 4, 2018 at her Fort Fairfield home, following an extended illness. She was born March 24, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Bertrand and Adellia (Wood) Herron. Frances had been self-employed as an automobile radiator repairperson, as well as owning and operating a delicatessen in Riverton, NJ. She had been and inhabitant in Fort Fairfield for a number of years. In addition to her parents, Frances was predeceased by one daughter, Janice M. Johnson; one sister, Margaret Graham. She is survived by one son, James E. Carmichael; one daughter, Lynn D. Carmichael, both of Fort Fairfield; six grandchildren, Kelley Knock of Millsboro, Delaware, Kenneth and Trisha Carmichael, both of Fort Fairfield; Deanna Mitchell of Georgetown, Delaware, Brian Carmichael of Tempe, AZ, Aaron Carmichael of Florida; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a special family friend, Corinne Edge of Georgetown, Delaware who Frances loved as a daughter. In keeping with Frances’ wishes, there will be no service at this time. The Carmichael family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Aroostook, especially to Ruth, Brittany and Debbie for their wonderful care and compassion Frances received. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Frances to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
