MARION L. CHAPMAN
Fort Fairfield – Marion L. Chapman, 87, wife of the late Arthur W. Chapman, passed away Monday evening, September 26, 2016 at her Fort Fairfield residence with her family be her side. She was born September 19, 1929 in Aroostook Junction, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Steenie A. and Mary B. (McNally) Argraves. She attended Aroostook Junction schools and was married to Arthur W. Chapman on June 7, 1945. She was a dedicated member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield where she served on the alter guild for over fifty-three years and also served as coordinator for the United Thank Offering for more then forty years. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many. In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. Chapman on October 5, 2008; three brothers, John “Jack” Argraves, Franklin Cox, and Ervil Cox; two sisters, Pauline M. Cyr and Lorena J. Hricak; one grandson-in-law, Harvey Donnelly. She is survived by two sons, William D. Chapman and his wife Sandra, Dana W. Chapman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca M. and Clifton S. “Butch” Brook, Trudy A. and David R. O’Neal, all of Fort Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Tonnie Smyth, Vicki Donnelly, Debbie Peters, B.J. Chapman, Travis Brook, Jason Brook, Joel Brahim; seven great grandchildren, Veronica Dougherty, Matthew Donnelly, Katy Jones, Jeramiah Brook, Max Peters, Logan Peters, and Draven Chapman; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind a special brother-in-law, Thomas Hricak. Friends may call Friday September 30, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 170 Main Street, Fort Fairfield with the Reverends Kevin Kinsey and Dr. Robert Smith co-officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church reception area following the interment.
