JANICE MARION CUMMING
San Antonio, Texas—Janice Marion Cumming died October 5, 2018. She was born on September 6, 1924 in Fort Fairfield, Aroostook County, Maine to parents Harrison Clyde McKenney and Annie Elizabeth (McCarthy) McKenney. One of 11 siblings, Jan grew up on a potato farm on the Russell Road in Fort Fairfield. She married George William Cumming on August 6, 1947. Jan demonstrated an admirable work ethic that she successfully passed down to her four children. After employment in the restaurant industry for many years, she boldly turned her love of cooking and serving others into her very own restaurant in Carmel, Maine called The House of Blarney. Upon retiring, Jan spent her time visiting and caring for her family and enjoyed the past several years in San Antonio, being a member of Rivers of Life Church. In her free time, Jan enjoyed traveling, cooking, crossword puzzles, collecting dolls, watching golf on television and the San Antonio Spurs. Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Annie McKenney, husband, George Cumming and daughter, Carron (Cumming) Crowell. She is survived by her Sister Inez Lynch, her children: George Cumming II, Candace Nystrom and Jeffrey Cumming, her grandchildren: Jeffrey Cumming II, Phillip Santacroce, Jessica Santacroce and Preston Crowell and her great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Cumming III, Kira Cumming, Logan Cumming, Rizzo Santacroce and Evan Santacroce as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
