DALE GUY DEWITT
Dale Guy Dewitt, 78, passed away December 17, 2016 at the VA hospital in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by his family. Dale was born June 27, 1938 in Fort Fairfield, son of Clarence (Ted) and Ida (Jenkins) DeWitt. He attended Fort Fairfield schools, joined the Army and served in Korea. Dale is survived by his wife Helen, of 56 years, from Cochise, Arizona, three sons; Clay (Regina), from Illinois, Vaughn (Nicolette) from Missouri, Brent (Traci) from Illinois, two daughters; Candace DeWitt, from Arizona and Susan (Thomas) Mavec, from Illinois. Three adopted children, two sons, Tim (Arianna) DeWitt, Anthony DeWitt and 1 daughter Isabelle all from Arizona. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Signa (DeWitt) Doughty from Fort Fairfield, Doreen Cyr from Presque Isle, one brother, Vernon DeWitt from Texas. Dale was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Joyce (DeWitt) Stanford from Virginia and Sharon (DeWitt) Morrow from Limestone, two brothers, Wayne from Presque Isle and Gary from Fort Fairfield. Dale and Helen attended the Seventh Day Adventist church in Bisbee, Arizona. Dale worked for the Forestry service and many years as groundskeeper at Lge Metro Hospital in Illinois. He and Helen fostered many children over the years. He volunteered a lot upon retirement, always helping wherever he could. Funeral services were at the Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Arizona on December 22, 2016.
