HAROLD P. “SONNY” DEWLEY

Presque Isle – Harold P. “Sonny” Dewley, 74, passed away unexpectedly Sunday December 9, 2018 at his Presque Isle residence. He was born December 28, 1943 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Lewis D. Sr. and Eliza J. (Ruff) Dewley. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1963 and furthered his education at the Northern Maine Community College Diesel Hydraulics Program. Harold served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968 and had been employed by Pinkham Lumber for twenty-seven years. He also worked at McCain Foods, Easton as an inspector, prior to his retirement. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by nine brothers, Truman Dewley Sr., Roy Dewley, Arthur Dewley, Lester Dewley, Lewis Dewley Jr., Henry “Chic” Dewley, Chester Dewley, Reginald Dewley and Ralph Dewley; one sister, Bertha Ashley. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Lori Dewley of Presque Isle; one daughter, Kim Cullinan of Limestone; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Earle and Margaret Dewley of Michigan, Larry and Sharon Dewley of Florida, Guy and Peggy Dewley of Michigan; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Roy Curtis of Winslow, Gloria and Gary Larsen of Long Prairie, MN; six grandchildren, Kelly Dewley and her fiancé Chris of Caribou, Kara Dewley and Sean Cloney of Limestone, Krista Craig of Biddeford, Jesse Dewley, Chelsea Guerrette, both of Presque Isle, Jonathan Guerrette and his wife Bobbi-Jo of Mattawamkeag; ten great grandchildren, Aaron, Kaydyn, Parker, Annah, Amiah, Karson, Bentley, Gabrial, Hayleigh, and Ketallei. He also leaves behind three special friends, Norma Grimsley of Texas, Joseph Underwood of Presque Isle, Jason Espling of Limestone; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends called Saturday December 15, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a memorial service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. . Interment with military honors will take place in the spring at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held after the memorial service at the home of Shawn and Lori Dewley, 20 Turner Street, Presque Isle.
