STEPHEN DREW DYER

 

Fort Fairfield – Stephen Drew Dyer, 35, passed away unexpectedly Saturday January 9, 2016 in Fort Fairfield. He was born July 12, 1980 in Presque Isle, the son of Freeman S. and Susan L. (Grant) Dyer. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1999, attended the Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle and the New England School of Communications, Bangor. He served as a member of the Fort Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years, had been employed by Lucerne Farms, Easton and also had been employed as a manager for Daigle Oil Company in Presque Isle. Drew greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He loved music of all types, and also enjoyed the several pickups he owned over the years. Drew loved animals, especially his cats Buddy and Brooklyn, but he enjoyed making people laugh the most. He was also a huge W.W.E. Wrestling fan. He was predeceased by his father, Freeman S. Dyer; and is survived by his mother and best friend, Susan L. Cote and her husband David of Fort Fairfield; his former wife and dear friend, Nicole Erb Dyer of Limestone; two brothers, Jeremy Grantham and his wife Tonia of Nampa, ID, Jason Grantham of Presque Isle; one step brother, Norman Cote of Fort Fairfield; one step sister, Angela Swisher and her husband Jeremy of Bonaire, GA. He also leaves behind four nieces and nephews, Joshua Grantham of Nampa, ID, Donovan Cote of Fort Fairfield, Emily Rex and Jonah Swisher, both of Bonaire, GA; aunts and uncle, Gail and Lance Lockhart of Alberta, B.C., Canada and Carolyn Schmidt of Bangor; as well as Nicole’s grandmother, Evelyn Brewer of Glenburn; and many many friends. Friends may call Tuesday January 12, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday January 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service in the church reception area. Spring interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
