ESTELLE J. FLAHERTY

Fort Fairfield – Estelle J. Flaherty, 59, wife of the late Norman L. Flaherty, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 3, 2020 at her Fort Fairfield home. She was born August 24, 1960 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Harvey and Rita Rose (Riccardi) Lubel. She attended Santiago High School in Garden Grove, CA, and was married to Norman L. Flaherty on November 14, 1979. She worked as a telemarketer in California for a number of years before relocating to Maine. Estelle loved animals, soap operas, the Beatles, thrift shopping, cooking, and most especially being a grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flaherty was predeceased by her husband Norman on October 31, 2002; two brothers, Bernard and Andrew Lubel. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joshua and Amanda Flaherty, Justin and Janie Flaherty, all of Fort Fairfield; one daughter, Geraldine Flaherty Tate of Prescott Valley, AZ; two sisters, Sheila Olson and her husband Robert of Sun City, CA, Rhoda Tallman of Hillsboro, OR; four grandchildren, Morgan Flaherty, Alex Oakes, both of Fort Fairfield, Tristan Tate of Prescott Valley, AZ, Gail Flaherty of California; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted later in the spring at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
