JOHN B. FOSTER Sr.
Fort Fairfield – John B. Foster Sr., 89, husband of Natalie M. (Rideout) Foster, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon December 4, 2018 at a Caribou healthcare facility. He was born February 18, 1929 in Fort Fairfield, the son Kenneth S. and Marion H. (Haines) Foster. He attended Fort Fairfield schools and was married to Natalie M. Rideout on June 14, 1950. John enjoyed a 35 year career with the State of Maine as a seed potato inspector, retiring as supervisor. He had been a member of the Fort Fairfield St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for many years. He was also a member of the former Fort Fairfield Frontier Masonic Lodge, the Anah Temple Shrine, the Anah Temple Shrine Band, and the Maine State Employees Association. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth S. Foster; his mother, Marion H. (Haines) Foster Conant; one daughter, Rev. Beth Ann Findlen; one brother, Neal Foster. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Natalie Foster of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Dan Foster and his companion Darlene of the Villages, FL, John B. Foster Jr. and his wife Beth Pfeiffer of Southwest Harbor; four grandchildren, Richard Foster of North Carolina, Sarah Roy and her husband Michael of Winterport, Matthew Findlen and his companion Angie of Miami, FL, Prof. Joshua Foster and his wife Shannon of Appleton, WI; three great grandchildren, Alexander and Emma Roy, and Rhone Foster; several nieces and nephews. Friends called Saturday December 8, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 170 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a memorial service took place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Kinsey officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held at the church following the service. Spring interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
