SHIRLEY D. GRAVES

Fort Fairfield – Shirley D. Graves, 80, moved on peacefully, to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, December 12, 2016 at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, after a brief illness. Shirley was born August 13, 1936 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Lawrence and Margaret (Day) Holmes. She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1954, was employed for many years at A & P Foods, Fort Fairfield, Community General Hospital, Fort Fairfield, and in her retirement was a volunteer at the Fort Fairfield Elementary School and worked part time at Fort Fairfield Family Dollar Store. Shirley was predeceased by her father, Lawrence Holmes; brother, Ronald Holmes; husband, Lawrence Graves; son-in-law, Tim Desjardins; and her beloved dogs (babies) Tigger and Tater. Shirley is survived by her mother, Margaret of Mars Hill; sons, Gregory Graves and his wife Dorothy of Old Town, Peter Graves and his companion Georgette Gordon of Lexington Township, Steven Graves and his companion Joyce Thibeault of Caribou; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and David Tuck of Fort Fairfield, Diana and Steve McLaughlin of Carlingford, New Brunswick; her grandchildren, John Graves and his wife Lara, Russell Graves, Bob, Ryan and Rachel Graves, Allan Assellin, Steven Graves and his wife Amanda, Shane, Trevor and Lindsey Graves, Brandon, Andrew and Elizabeth Tuck, Taylor Desjardins, Megan and Seth McLaughhin; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Wyatt, Tucker, Gunnar, Lexi, Cooper S., Morgan, Cammaron, Chloe, Ashley, Peter, Robert, Lauren, Easton and Cooper; sister-in-law, Delores Holmes of Saco. She is also survived by her extended family at the United Pentecostal Church, Fort Fairfield. Friends called Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church, 33 Currier Road, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service was conducted at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Doughty officiating. Spring interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held at the church reception area, immediately following the service.
