Gary D. Haines, Sr., 77, of Scarborough, ME, passed away peacefullyWednesday, June 7, 2017, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough, ME, surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born in Fort Fairfield, ME, a son of Graydon D. and Alta M. (Hill) Haines. was educated at the Fort Fairfield schools and graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1958. worked most of his career in the accounting dept. at Potato Service Inc. in Presque Isle. Upon moving to Scarborough, he worked in the accounting dept. at Ryder Truck Co. until he retired.wife of 47 years, Althea, passed away in 2006.was also predeceased by his father, Graydon Haines Sr., and mother Alta (Hill) Haines, as well as his brothers, Graydon (Glenna) Haines, Richard (Janice) Haines, Sheldon (Mary) Haines and his sister, Glenna (Burpee) Kyle.Theand joy of Gary'swas his children and grandchildren.  Gary is survived by his children,Dwyer and her husband Martin of Grovetown, GA, Jeffrey S. Haines and his wife Ann of Saco ME, Heidi A. McDonald and her husband Peter of Scarborough, Gary H. Haines, Jr. of West Lebanon, NH and Hollie Ouellette and herDavid of Scarborough, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the kind and compassionateat Springbrook Center in Westbrook for the wonderful care they provided to Gary over the last few years.A private graveside service was held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, ME.Arrangements entrusted to Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland, ME.
