GLENNYS M. HEATH

Fort Fairfield – Glennys M. Heath, 78, wife of Richard Heath, passed away on May 13, 2018 at her home following a battle with cancer. She was born on April 9, 1940 in Patten, the daughter of Willard and Violet (Gregg) McIntire. She attended Patten Academy and the University of Maine, graduating in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Glennys was an active member of the United Parish Church in Fort Fairfield and the United Parish Women’s Group since 1966. She was also an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Glennys had been employed by the Fort Fairfield School Department for over twenty years before retiring in 1995. Her greatest joys were her love of golf and having her grandchildren around. Glennys was predeceased by her parents in 2000 and is survived by her husband of over 57 years, Richard Heath of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Angela Young of Claremont, NH, and Karen Heath of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Judy Smallwood of Patten; two brothers, Burtt McIntire and his wife Linda of East Calais, VT; and James McIntire and his wife Norma of Lompoc, CA; seven grandchildren, Justin, Danielle and her fiancé Matt, Kaylee and her husband David, Whitney and her companion Stephen, Heath, Hayden and his wife Brittany, and Hope; great grandchildren, Victoria and Elizabeth; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends called Saturday May 19, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the United Parish Church, 4 Church Street, Fort Fairfield, where the service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Meg Heggmann and Rev. Mary Miller co-officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held in the church reception area immediately following the service. The Heath family would like to thank the staff at Cancer Care of Aroostook, Presque Isle for the love and care they gave to Glennys. Also to the staff of Hospice of Aroostook for their promptness and help caring for Glennys. Thank you all.
