She was the matriarch of Sister’s Bakery in Fort Fairfield, owned an operated by her daughters. The many fond memories of trips to the camp at Cross Lake, fishing with Muriel and Jack, cooking and baking, especially homemade bread and donuts fill her family’s life. In addition to her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her husband Jack on February 4, 1998; one son, Terry LaPointe; one brother, Hollis Oakes; one sister, Eloise Engler. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Hollis and Bridget LaPointe of Bennington, VT, Tylor and Priscilla LaPointe of Presque Isle; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and David Hayes of Easton, Heidi James, Narda and Mark Guiou, all of Fort Fairfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Shelia Oakes of Vacaville, CA; one sister, Maxine Leeper of Fort Fairfield; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
