MITCHELL B. MCNAMEE

Fort Fairfield – Mitchell B. McNamee, 58, passed away Thursday morning August 10, 2017 in Fort Fairfield doing what he loved, working on the potato farm. He was born October 27, 1958 in Fort Fairfield, the son of J. Arnold and Mazie A. (Brayall) McNamee. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1978 and had been employed in the potato farming industry for most of his life, most recently at Phil Kilcollins Farms, Fort Fairfield. Mitch was a member of the Fort Fairfield Fish and Game Club, loved spending time at his camp and gardening. He was well known, humble and well liked by all. His children and his grandchildren were his world and he made every effort to attend all their many sports events. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Mitch was predeceased by two brothers, Jeffrey and Gregory McNamee. His is survived by two sons, John A. McNamee and his partner Loryn Moran, Liam M. McNamee, all of Fort Fairfield; four daughters, Hope McNamee and her partner Larry Worcester of Clinton, MA, Stacy Michaud and her husband Daniel of Fort Fairfield, Courtney McNamee of Saco, Whitney McNamee of Providence, RI; two brothers, Timothy McNamee and his wife Lana, Hadley McNamee and his wife Brenda, all of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Loretta Holmes of Caribou; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jeffrey (Arna) McNamee of Fort Fairfield, Mrs. Gregory (Ruthanna) McNamee of International Falls, MN; two grandchildren, Brett and Laura Grace Worcester of Clinton, MA; numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a special friend, Lisa (Beaulieu) Campbell of Fort Fairfield, and several dear friends in the Novak family. Friends called Monday, August 14, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mitch to the charity or organization of one’s choice.
