GAYNOL PEARY

FORT FAIRFIELD— Gaynol L. Peary 77, made the transition from this earthly life to life eternal with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday morning January 18, 2017 at his home. He was born August 18, 1939 in Caribou, the son of Linwood and Viola (Anderson) Peary.

   Gaynol attended schools in Washburn and graduated high school in 1957. He worked as a rod and chain man with A.H. Rheinlander during his high school years and at Taterstate Frozen Foods following high school. He then served in the US Army from May 1963 to Feb. 1965, serving 15 months in Korea. Upon returning home he met and married Linda R. Kinney on October 30, 1965. He went on to become a Maine State Game Warden and served for 28 years. First, in the St. Pamphile District and then in the Calais area and then in the Central Aroostook area until his retirement in 1994. He then worked as a court security officer for the Judicial Department in the courts in Aroostook County, mostly in the Superior Court, retiring in 2006 after 12 years. He then worked part time at Cook Florist in Presque Isle as a delivery driver. Gaynol said this was the only job where people were happy to see him.

   He is survived by his wife of 51 years Linda (Kinney) Peary of Fort Fairfield, a son Steven and his partner Tina Roberts and their two sons Jonah and Asa of Williston,VT. a daughter Marcie Fowler and her husband Robert, and their daughter Hope of Fort Fairfield, two brothers and their wives; Richard and Christa Peary of Framingham, MA and Donald and Janet Peary of Washburn, along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held 11AM Saturday January 21, 2017 at the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church with Reverends Bud Fancy and Bernard Brown officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou at a later date. Donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Presque Isle Wesleyan Church P.O.
