FORT FAIRFIELD - Robert Lee Plummer Jr., 84, and Rachel Marie Plummer, 83, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 23, 2015 in Caribou as the result of an automobile accident. Robert was born May 5, 1931 in Fort Fairfield and Rachel was born November 7, 1931 in Fort Fairfield, where both attended local schools. Robert had been employed in the Aroostook County area as a potato inspector for many years. They are survived by two daughters, Patricia Gardner and her husband Russell of Gorham, Lonna Plummer of Scarborough; two grandchildren, Megan Gardner of Gorham and Jared Gardner of New York City, NY; numerous nieces and nephews; and threegrandcats, Jade, Fynn and Ronan. Rachel also leaves behind two brothers, Dale R. Cyr of South Carolina, David F. Cyr of Tennessee; two sisters, Jane Rogers of Fort Fairfield and Linda Cyr of Pennsylvania. In keeping with the family’s wishes, services will be private. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Plummer to the charity or organization of one’s choice.
