JEFFREY E. SOUCIER

Ashland & Fort Fairfield—Jeffrey E. Soucier, 83, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born April 27, 1935 in Ashland, a son of the late Gregory and Mattie (Carney) Soucier.  Jeffrey worked as a machinist for Acme Monaco Machine Shop, Presque Isle, for over 10 years, until his retirement. Previously, he worked several years in central Connecticut before returning to Ashland. He was a life member of the Presque Isle AmVets and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Ashland and Presque Isle. Jeffrey enjoyed archery, especially when his family would share in the target shooting, and he was also an avid fisherman and loved to navigate the woods and waters around the county.  Jeffrey took pride in playing in a small band which toured area nursing homes to entertain residents.  He is survived by: his wife of almost 62 years, Joanne (Legassie) Soucier of Fort Fairfield, formerly Ashland; five children, Brian Soucier, Peggy Strid and her husband John, Bonnie Romine and her husband Bryan, all of Ft. Fairfield, Lory Faucher and her husband Marcel of Lebanon, and Steven Soucier of Ft. Fairfield; four siblings, Emily Dubey and her husband Stan of Bristol, CT, Ronald Soucier, Donald Saucier, both of Presque Isle, and Wendell Soucier of Mapleton; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jeffrey was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Saucier. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at St. Marks Catholic Church, Allen Farm Road, Ashland. Relatives and friends met the family Saturday morning 9-9:45 AM at the Church. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
