JANET M. JEPSON (FORSMAN) BURTCHELL
Fort Fairfield – Janet M. Jepson (Forsman) Burtchell, 74, passed away Sunday morning, January 10, 2016 at a Caribou nursing facility surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. She was born February 18, 1941 in Caribou, the daughter of Hartley and Albertine (Anderson) Jepson. Janet attended Stockholm schools and was a graduate of the Caribou High School Class of 1959, and received her Registered Nurse accreditation from Eastern Maine Medical Center in 1962. She worked as an R.N. in the Aroostook County area for thirty-five years at Cary Medical Center, Home Healthcare of Aroostook and Visiting Nurses of Aroostook. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, gardening and her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her first husband, Larry Forsman in 1975; and dear friend Brenda Roope in 2014. She is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Stuart D. Burtchell of Fort Fairfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Kathy Forsman, Kurt and Vicki Forsman, all of Fort Fairfield, Keith and Tricia Forsman of Hamden; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and K.C. Rider of Emporia, KS, Susan and Wayde Leighton of Hamden; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Bill Roope of Winterport. Friends called Friday, January 15, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service was conducted Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
