MARGARET I. OAK
CLERMONT, Florida—Margaret I. Oak, 75, from Clermont, Florida, formerly from Fort Fairfield, Maine, passed away on July 9, 2016 at Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida with her husband Parker at her side. Margaret was born on March 13, 1941 in Fort Fairfield, Maine, a daughter of Horrace and Helen (Monson) Henderson. She attended the local schools and was a graduate of Fort Fairfield, class of 1959. All of her friends called her “Muds.” She met and married her husband to be in Fort Fairfield, Parker Oak, they were married October 27, 1964 in the Episcopal Church by Rev. Merle Smith officiating with Jean and Lester Tibbets as the Maid of Honor and Best Man. They lived in a small apartment in Presque Isle after they were married while Parker worked at MPG Dairy and later moved to Sanford when Parker got a job with Harold Shaw’s Dairy. In 1980 Parker went to work at Pratt and Whitney and Margaret went to work there in 1981, she stayed with the company up until her retirement in 2000. After her retirement they purchased a motor home and traveled the United States and parts of Canada finally settling in Florida. A graveside service was held at 2:30 pm in Evergreen Cemetery in Solon. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home, Madison, Maine.
