GERALD J. ST. PIERRE JR.
Fort Fairfield – Gerald J. St. Pierre Jr., 72, husband of Nancy (Saucier) St. Pierre, passed away Thursday morning, May 21, 2020 at a Bangor healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born October 17, 1947 in Stockholm, the son of Gerald J. Sr. and Gertrude (Raymond) St. Pierre. Gerald was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1966 and went on the serve his country, completing three tours of duty with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1969. He was also stationed stateside in Missouri and Kentucky. He was married to Nancy Saucier on July 5, 1975 and had been employed over the years by several area employers, including Richard and Bob Shaw Farms, Fort Fairfield for decades, and also worked in the logging, trucking, and construction industries. Gerald was a member of the Fort Fairfield VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy however, came from spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Gerald was predeceased by one brother, Paul St. Peter. He is survived by his wife of nearly forty-five years, Nancy St. Pierre of Fort Fairfield; two sons, James Michaud and his wife Jennifer of Caribou, Jon St. Pierre of Fort Fairfield; one daughter, Susan Ann Michaud and her companion, Sandra Christianson of Providence, RI; one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Norman Houser of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Hunter E. and Delaney M. St. Pierre, both of Fort Fairfield, Logan and Abigail Michaud, both Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, calling hours will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield at later date. Interment with military honors will follow the Mass at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou.
