NORMA A. TARDY
Limestone – Norma A. Tardy, 83, wife of Lyman “Butch” Tardy, passed away Saturday evening, October 31, 2020 at a Mars Hill healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born December 14, 1936 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Willard D. and Dora (Corbin) Giberson. She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1955 and was married to Lyman “Butch” Tardy on July 3, 1964. Norma had been employed by Birdseye Foods in Caribou for ten years and also resided in Germany for two years as a military wife. She was an avid sports fan and was especially supportive of the New England teams. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and listening to music. In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by two brothers, D. Albert Giberson and John H. Giberson; one sister, Mary A. Giberson; and a special cousin, Alfred C. Giberson. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Lyman “Butch” Tardy of Limestone; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cindy Tardy of Limestone; one daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Tom Roach of California Settlement, New Brunswick; one brother, Howard Giberson and his companion Mary Whitmore of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Louise White of Fort Fairfield and her companion Sonny Packard; four grandchildren, Matthew Tardy and his fiancé Kelsi Morris of Caribou, Haley Tardy of Limestone, Jenna and Jack Roach, both of California Settlement, New Brunswick; two great grandchildren, Aleah and Odin Tardy, both of Limestone; several nieces and nephews. Norma also leaves behind special friends, Gary and Carol Churchill of Fort Fairfield and Janet Paul of Pabineau First Nation, New Brunswick. Calling hours will be private. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a graveside service Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Advent Cemetery, Limestone with Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating.
